The average price of regular in the Philadelphia market continued to drift lower in the past month. Those price changes, plus prices in the region and nationally from GasBuddy at close of business Sunday:

• $3.14 per gallon average for regular in the market, down 8 cents in the past month.

• 2.9 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 7.9 cents higher than a year ago.

• $2.77 per gallon is cheapest station in the market, down 9 cents in the past month.

• Fourth most expensive for the date behind 2022, 2021 and 2023.

• New Jersey: $2.97 per gallon, down a nickel in the past month.

• Wilmington: $2.86 per gallon, down 24 cents in the past month.

• $2.90 per gallon average nationally, down 13.0 cents in the past month.

• $3.67 per gallon average price of diesel nationally, down a dime in the past month.

“Gas prices continued to decline in most states last week, while some price cycling states saw temporary spikes to restore margins,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “With the national average falling further, we’re now at multi-year lows heading into Christmas. Diesel prices are also easing … . Barring any major disruptions, prices are likely to stay relatively low into the new year.”
