PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (KCTV) – The man known for building a safe haven for Kansas City Chiefs fans all the way in Philadelphia has passed away.
What started in the 70s as Big Charlie’s Saloon is now lovingly known as “Arrowhead East,” an unlikely Chiefs bar in South Philly. Owner Paul Staico took the bar over in the wake of his father’s passing, turning it into a floor-to-ceiling homage to the Chiefs.

Under Staico’s welcoming ownership, Arrowhead East gained national recognition, attracting customers from across the country and appearing in two NFL films in 2003 and 2023.
“Paul’s decisions as an owner reflected his values. When overwhelming demand for Super Bowl parties meant some loyal patrons would have to be turned away, he chose to close the bar rather than let anyone feel left out—reminding people that on that South Philly corner, people mattered more than money,” his obituary reads.
He died unexpectedly on Nov. 30, 2025, at age 59, leaving behind family and “countless friends.”
“Beyond the headlines and cameras, Paul will be remembered for his easy smile, his love of a good laugh, and his gift for bringing people together.”
