Trump said his administration is lowering prices and addressing what he called a problem caused by Democrats.

At the rally, he credited those tariffs for helping reduce costs.
“We’ve taken in hundreds of billions of dollars. Really trillions,” Trump said.
News 9 spoke with political analyst Scott Spradling, who said Trump’s approach may be about both rallying supporters and reshaping the conversation on the economy.
“I think the Republicans right now absolutely need to try and start building some enthusiasm for the midterms, because right now, and it’s December, but right now all of the signs are pointing towards Democratic Party momentum,” Spradling said. “One way that the president has always been successful in rallying his base is to get back out amongst the people and sell his product, give us his best one liners and reconnect with those people who put him in office in the first place.”
A new Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll found 43% of people believe Trump is winning the fight against inflation, while 57% say he is losing. In November, 60% said he was losing.
