Toys for Tots — drop off new, unwrapped toys for ages newborn to 18. Veterans’ items — drop off items for men and women, including toiletries, clothing items (especially white socks), personal and recreational items (puzzle books, playing cards); visit the post for a detailed list. Food drive — drop off nonperishable food items that are easy to prepare with minimal resources for those experiencing homelessness. Monetary donations also accepted.
St. Michael’s Christmas cookie walk: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 21. St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church lower-level church hall, 205 N. Main St., Pittston. Create a sampler of homemade cookies. No entrance fee. Chocolate chip, peanut butter, nut kolachi, tea cakes, ginger bread, pepper cookies and more. Visitors invited to select their own cookies and place into containers with disposable gloves, all provided. Each box is weighed at checkout; cost is $12 per pound. Christmas basket and gift bag raffle; complimentary hot chocolate.
