BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The holiday spirit is taking center stage in Bethlehem Wednesday, as Miracle on 34th Street – the musical – kicks off at the Wind Creek Event Center.
69 News Reporter Sydney Kay is there with a look at the show that’s bringing Christmas magic to the Lehigh Valley.
The first show kicks off Wednesday at 2 p.m. The show runs through Sunday.
The show is about a girl, Susan Walker, who was raised not to believe in Santa Claus or magic. The real Kris kringle teaches the girl and her mom how to see the love, magic, and healing in Christmas.
It’s a story about bringing families together.
“It’s just such a special story,” said the actor who plays Santa in the musical, adding it’s something he is very passionate about.
“It’s been an amazing experience,” he said.
Hanna Scotch, an assistant dance captain and onstage swing, said she is responsible for ensemble members of the cast, including making sure roles are covered if somebody calls out sick. She helps make sure the cast has everything they need and helps oversee the show’s choreography.
“I just love being able to do something like this every night,” said Charlotte Sukar, who plays Susan.
She said she’s been performing since she was two years old.
Something new happens every day as actors are rehearsing, she said.
Tickets are still available.
