HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN CO. (WOLF) — More than $1.4 million in new state funding is headed to Lackawanna and Luzerne counties to bolster public-safety initiatives, trauma treatment, and victim-services programs, State Sen. Marty Flynn announced Wednesday.
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) approved $1,432,092 in grants for a wide range of local agencies that work on the front lines of substance-use response, advocacy for crime victims, and trauma-informed counseling. Officials say the funding will help expand treatment options, maintain essential service programs, and strengthen support systems for residents navigating the criminal-justice system.
“These grants give our local partners the tools they need to continue work that is essential to families in our region,” Flynn said. “The organizations receiving this funding deal with challenging situations every day, and this support helps them reach more people and offer care that is consistent and dependable.”
