ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The investigation is underway into a shooting that shut down part of a major thoroughfare in downtown Allentown Thursday.
Several officers could be seen putting up crime scene tape in the 1000 block of Hamilton Street for a shooting police say happened just before 5 p.m.
A bicycle laying on the sidewalk in the middle of the block was surrounded by numerous evidence markers.
Allentown Police confirm one person was shot and officers rendered first aid before the victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. There is no word on their condition at this time.
