PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – The 13th Annual Bethlehem Christmas Village opened Tuesday at Capt. Anderson’s Marina. Transforming the parking lot into a recreation of ancient Bethlehem.
The free, family-friendly event runs December 10-13 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the marina parking lot. Guests can walk the path of Mary, Joseph, and Isaiah as they share the news of the coming Christ child and search for a place to rest.
The event features a live nativity and petting zoo with pony rides. Two local school choirs will perform each night. A “Tax Collector” booth will collect donations benefiting a different local charity each night.
“This event is very special compared to other Christmas events because we do not have a Santa Claus here, so the entire purpose of this is to celebrate the reason for the season, Jesus Christ,” said Chelsea Adami, Capt. Anderson’s marketing director. “We are excited, everybody gets excited for the live nativity part when they open that curtain, and Jesus is born, it’s just a lot of fun.”
The event includes multiple vendors and allows families to experience the Christmas story surrounded by lights, music, and community spirit on the waterfront.
