Erie Humane Society Seeks Donations for Kitten with Severe Upper Respiratory Infection

The Erie Humane Society is sharing an important message about the dangers freezing temperatures pose to animals. Recently, they took in a cat named Olive, who is fighting for her life.

Olive came to the shelter very ill and showing signs of frostbite on her nose and eye.

Executive Director Joe Lang says Olive’s condition is “very touch and go.” Veterinary staff are doing everything possible to help her recover.

Lang urges pet owners to ensure outdoor animals have proper shelter to escape harsh winter conditions. Without protection, pets can suffer life-threatening injuries like Olive’s.
