John P. Riccetti has a strong sense of agency and self-awareness.

He is not afraid to ask questions or for perspective on a matter, and  his work ethic is centered on striving to exceed expectations and allows challenges to fuel him rather than deter him.

And that is what he says his philosophy is daily in his position as vice-president and banking advisor with PNC Private Bank in Scranton and Lehigh Valley.

As a banking advisor with PNC Private Bank, Riccetti’s primary responsibility is to manage the banking needs of high-net-worth individuals by offering solutions to address complex credit and liquidity needs.

He works alongside a team of experienced advisors who provide investment, trust, and financial planning services, and place a high priority on cultivating sincere and trusted relationships with clients and their families.

After earning his bachelor of science in finance and entrepreneurship from the University of Scranton, he began his career as an analyst within PNC’s post-graduate development program. Upon completion of the program, the young man transitioned to PNC’s Asset Management group and assumed his current role as a banking advisor.

Riccetti has been greatly influenced by the exceptional leaders he says he has been fortunate to work with as his PNC journey evolves.

In particular, Pete Danchak, NEPA regional president, and Kathleen Dunsmuir, PNC Private Bank market director, both continue to offer him the guidance and support to be successful at PNC.

Additionally, his current manager, Nuno Rodrigues, Northeast banking manager, and his previous manager, Kristen Del Grosso, market director, have played pivotal roles in developing his talent, challenging him to go outside his comfort zone, and encouraging him to live up to his full potential.

“Never forget those who supported you along your journey and be good to others. Being good to others is a wonderful legacy to leave behind,” he noted.

The banking advisor acknowledges he is very fortunate to have the most supportive and loving family, including his mother who is his biggest cheerleader, confidant, and constructive critic.

“Throughout my life she has taught me the importance of knowing my worth and asking for it, and that I am deserving of every opportunity or dream, no matter how out of reach it may seem. She is the first person I call with exciting news, and she is always ready to celebrate my wins with a bottle of champagne chilling in the fridge,” he said.

The young man currently serves as regional chair for PNC’s Diversity and Inclusion Council, which focuses on promoting PNC’s D&I initiatives throughout the community by partnering with local chambers and nonprofit organizations.

In addition, he serves as board member for Coffee Inclusive, a nonprofit which provides opportunities for individuals with diverse abilities.

“I am also passionate about mentorship and have aided in the career development of numerous peers through various mentorship initiatives within PNC and through the University of Scranton’s Kania School of Management Alumni/Student mentorship initiatives,” he adds.

Riccetti is a four-time recipient of PNC’s Market All-Star award, an annual recognition presented to top-performing individuals throughout PNC’s local markets; the D&I Individual Champion of the Year award, a corporate-wide award presented to an individual based on their achievements throughout the organization; and a four-time recipient of the D&I Regional Council of the Year award representing the NEPA D&I Regional Council as council chair.
