VisitErie has announced that applications are now open for its 2026 Matching Funds Grant Programs, designed to boost Erie County’s tourism economy by supporting marketing initiatives and events that attract visitors from outside the region.
Local businesses, organizations, and event planners are encouraged to apply for two funding opportunities:
This program promotes VisitErie partners and Erie County as a tourism destination. Applicants must be VisitErie partners in good standing and demonstrate the ability to draw out-of-town visitors.
Total funds available will be $40,000 with an award amount of up to $5,000 per project (minimum $2,000 match required) the deadline for any application is Feb. 6, 2026. This program assists event planners with promotional efforts or operational needs for events that attract visitors beyond Erie County. Total funds available for this program is $20,000 with an awarded amount of up to $1,000 per event. Applicants for this program do not need to be VisitErie partners.
Application rounds begin with round 1 for events held from January until July the deadline is Jan. 9, 2026. Round 2 for July through December events will have more details forthcoming
