ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Wintry weather isn’t stopping anytime soon. As another round of precipitation moves in, PennDOT has been treating the roads Friday with its salt brine solution.
Once the weekend snow hits, you should see PennDOT plow trucks.
“That should be a plowable event, so we’ll plow and then put down material,” said Ron Young, press officer of PennDOT engineering District 5. “We have plenty of material, we have plenty of workers on call whenever needed, so we’ll treat it as we do any other storm at any other time of the year.”
In Bethlehem, crews will be coming out at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.Â
“We’re gonna work 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., try and cover as many roads as possible with the brine, we have another crew coming out at 6:00 p.m., they’re gonna work until 6:00 a.m., cover the rest,” said Dray Wieller, superintendent of Streets for the city of Bethlehem.
Wieller says the winter weather season has been off to a busy start, and that his team is prepared for what the rest of the colder months could bring.
