BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — A 54-year-old Bristol man planned on meeting a 12-year-old township girl at the Neshaminy Mall to engage in a sexual relationship. Instead, he’s in prison, police said.
Bensalem Police have charged George Shetzline, 54, of Bristol, after he started a conversation with whom he believed to be a 12-year-old girl on a social media dating app. He sent her a picture of his genitals, asking the child to perform a sexual act with him.
Police said he continued to send numerous photos of his genitals, some of which included his face.
The conversation continued over several days, and he continued to talk about the sexual acts he wanted to perform on her. He discussed the possibility of meeting with her at the Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem.
Shetzline was charged with Attempted Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Dissemination of Explicit Sexual Material to Minors, and Criminal Use of a Communication Facility. Bensalem Police received a tip from someone reviewing PA Docket Sheets and discovered the active warrant.
That person was asked to tell Shetzline that he had an active warrant and to turn himself in. He failed to turn himself in to the police, so Bensalem and Bristol Township officers went to his residence on Park Avenue. His girlfriend answered the door and stated that he had left the home an hour before police arrival.
When police checked the home, Shetzline was found hiding in a corner behind a couch inside the apartment. He was taken into custody without incident.
Hindering Apprehension charges are pending for Shetzline’s girlfriend for harboring and concealing his whereabouts.
No child was in danger during this investigation.
Shetzline was arraigned by District Justice Charles Jonas and was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $750,000.
