READING, Pa. – Police in Reading say a person is in custody following a knife attack that left the victim with serious injuries.
29-year-old Jorge Garcia of Reading is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, robbery and related offenses.
According to Reading Police, Garcia attacked a woman in the 1100 block of Franklin Street last Thursday during the early morning hours as she took out her trash.
Investigators say it doesn’t appear Garcia and the victim knew each other.
The woman went to the hospital with serious injuries, but police say she’s expected to survive.
Online court records list Garcia as in custody at Berks County Jail on $250,000 bail.
