Dozens of neglected dogs are now safe after they were rescued from an RV in Berks County, Pennsylvania.

The Animal Rescue League of Berks County (ARL) said its humane police officers had responded to Grace Street in Reading this week to rescue about 40 dogs from an RV.

In coordination with other local shelters, ARL has been able to find space for all of the dogs to receive assessment and care.

Officials said the animals, small terrier-type dogs, were found very dirty and matted, and some were even trembling.

Due to the influx of dogs, ARL is asking for the community’s help.

Officials are seeking people to adopt or foster animals due to limited space at their facility. It is also encouraged to volunteer, as they are short-staffed, or to donate to help the animals with their treatments, food, housing, and care.
