No one hit it big in the Powerball drawing on Wednesday.
That means, come Saturday, someone could become an instant billionaire.
Though, officials said, a $1 million winning Powerball ticket was sold in New Jersey.
With no one to claim the $930 million prize that was at stake this week, this weekend’s drawing will be one of Powerball’s largest in history at $1 billion.
The near $1 billion prize that was up for grabs on Wednesday was the seventh largest grand prize in the game’s history.
Powerball jackpots have previously hit $1 billion, though. In 2022, Powerball saw its highest jackpot so far with a $2 billion prize.
The next Powerball drawing will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025.
