Memorial planned for Scranton machete victim

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — One of two victims killed in a vicious machete attack in Scranton will be laid to rest on Monday.

The attack happened last Tuesday night at Jermyn Apartments on Biden Street, killing 61-year-old Linda Fortuna and another woman and critically injuring a third.

Fortuna will be buried Monday morning in Cathedral Cemetery

The accused killer, 38-year-old Michael Woods, remains jailed without bail and faces a preliminary hearing scheduled for next week.
