ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A holiday tradition of giving culminates in Allentown.

The Lehigh Valley Central Labor Council is wrapping up another year of delivering toys to hundreds of young children in the Allentown School District.

69 News Reporter Cierra Genelle was at the Roosevelt Elementary School with a look at this year’s toy drive.

The Lehigh Valley Central Labor Council organized the drive to benefit the Allentown School District students at Roosevelt and Sheridan Elementary Schools.

Organizers say many families struggle with financial challenges and the drive really helps them still have a wonderful Christmas.

The morning started with a parade of vehicles including a LANTA bus, Allentown fire, Allentown police, members of the Lehigh County Sheriff’s Office, and the Allentown Mayor.

They all piled into Roosevelt Elementary School to quickly organize the gifts that families and students will be able to choose from in the coming days.

Another parade is happening around the school Monday afternoon with local officials, school officials, and the Dieruff High School marching band to continue to spread the holiday joy.
