LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The Philadelphia region just saw its first significant snow storm, and unfortunately for local kids it happened on a weekend.
So much snow did the Lower Merion area get Sunday morning?
According to the National Weather Service, a member of the public reported 5.8 inches in Bryn Mawr at 4:34 p.m. Sunday.
Not too far away in Ardmore, a trained spotter recorded 5.5 inches of snow at 5:55 p.m. Sunday.
And 5 inches were reported in Penn Wynne at 7 a.m. by the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network.
Berwyn in Chester County had the most snow on the Main Line, with 8 inches of snow recorded by a member of the public at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Blue Bell had Montgomery County’s highest snowfall total, with 8.7 inches at 9:27 a.m. Sunday.
The highest snowfall total in the five-county Philadelphia region was recorded in East Nantmeal, which saw 8.8 inches, according to the NWS.
Summit Hill in Carbon County had Southeastern Pennsylvania’s high snowfall total with 9 inches.
