READING, Pa. – The Reading Royals are handing out teddy bears that rained down on the ice at a game earlier this month.
Today, the team unloaded the fluffy haul at One Luv Outreach in Reading.
This year, fans donated more than 3,500 stuffed animals.
That’s the most collected since the Royals first began holding a teddy bear toss 13-years ago.
“We’re looking to build upon it each and every year and make sure to bring more warmth, more holiday cheer and more fun for the best people right here in Berks County,” said Erik Jesberger, director of communications with the Reading Royals.
Teddy bears will also be donated to St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital near Bethlehem.
The team plans to make that delivery on Thursday.
