Scranton police apprehend man wanted out of Philadelphia

Scranton police arrested a 49-year-old man wanted by the Philadelphia Police Department on a criminal warrant for indecent assault, according to a criminal complaint.

Patrolmen Matthew Conforti and Timothy Merkel of the Scranton Police Street Crimes Unit received information Thursday about a fugitive who was residing in the city, police said.

Police learned Diallo Bass was living at 1203 Pittston Ave., Apt. 2, and found him inside the residence, officers said.

After officers confirmed the warrant was valid, Bass was apprehended and charged with arrest prior to requisition, police said.

As of Monday, Bass remained in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail.
