Scranton officials declare Code Blue amid frigid weather

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The City of Scranton has issued a code blue for the frigid weather this week.

The alert is in effect every day from Monday through Friday, except Thursday, from 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Emergency shelter can be found at Saint Anthony’s Haven, Weston Field House, and the Community Intervention Center.

Hours vary for each of the shelters, and details can be found below:

Saint Anthony’s Haven, 409 Olive Street, Scranton, open 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Weston Field House, 982 Providence Road, Scranton, open at 7:30 p.m.

Community Intervention Center, 445 North 6th Ave., Scranton, open 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (open later if needed).
