Vance called it the great American comeback.
He spent the speech highlighting some of the policies that were passed under the One Big Beautiful Bill earlier this year: no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and the expanded child tax credit.
The administration is keeping a spotlight on the Keystone State with Vance’s stop on Tuesday, which came just one week after President Donald Trump’s visit to the Poconos.
Vance said people are going to have the best tax season they’ve ever had in 2026. He also said the Trump administration is planning to make a major investment in Pennsylvania.
“When we talk about all the people coming into the United States to invest in the American worker, we’ve got real money, real jobs and real opportunity. What that means for the state of Pennsylvania is that in just the last 11 months, we’re creating 60,000 good paying jobs for Pennsylvanians bringing in this Commonwealth $100 billion in new investment,” Vance said.
Before Vance took the stage, Congressman Ryan Mackenzie, who represents this district in Congress, told the crowd he supports the job this administration is doing, and criticized the Biden administration for the state of the economy before President Trump took office.
“President Trump and JD Vance walked into the Oval Office in January to find one of the worst messes in American history. But we understood the mission, you sent us to Washington to do the hard things. Fix the damage and deliver for the working people of America,” Mackenzie said.
Vance also praised job numbers just released Tuesday from the Labor Department showing about 60,000 jobs were added in the United States in November. But that same report also showed unemployment is currently at the highest rate in four years, at 4.6 percent.
Vance’s visit will come after President Donald Trump talked about the economy and inflation during a stop at Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monroe County.
Trump spoke for about an hour and a half in front of a crowd of around 1,000 people.
The president spoke about what he says is an inflation crisis inherited by the Biden administration. Trump talked about several things that he says are driving prices down, one of those being tariffs.
