Donald “DJ” Stott, 57, of Peckville and formerly of North Scranton, passed away on Tuesday morning at home due to heart failure. Our hearts are broken with the passing of our loving son, partner and nephew.

Born in Scranton, he is the son of Kathy Gallagher Stott and her life partner, Bob Hudak and the late Donald J. Stott, Jr. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School Class of 1986. Prior to his illness he was in the construction business which he was very passionate about. He took great pride in his work.

DJ loved his cats; Sammy, Jr. and Hayden. Although he had a rough exterior, he was soft and kind on the inside just like a teddy bear. DJ enjoyed music and going to concerts especially the Allman Brothers. He also enjoyed his trips to Amsterdam. DJ will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Also surviving is his caregiver and life partner, Mary Kerekes. Aunt and godmother, Mary Ellen Gallagher. Other aunts and uncles, Linda and Tom Crofton and Bob and Margaret Stott. Many cousins and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jamie Stott. His grandparents, Mary A. Gallagher, Dorothy and Donald Stott.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 9:30am at Mary Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St. in North Scranton.

Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
