LOWER SAUCON TWP., Pa. – Police say black ice is likely to blame for an early morning tractor trailer accident on I-78.
The rig traveled off the highway and down an embankment in Lower Saucon Township just before 1:15 a.m. Saturday.
Icy conditions on the stretch of I-78 caused the roadway to be closed for about an hour while PennDot crews responded with salt trucks to improve travel conditions.
The truck driver was not seriously injured, and there were still backups heading east and westbound on 78 until just after 9 a.m. Saturday.Â
