READING, Pa. – The Berks Ballet Theater is alive with the scenes of the Nutcracker this weekend.

After 12 weeks of practice and prep — they’re putting on their big shows before Christmas.

It’s also a celebration of the theater’s 50th anniversary!

Directors with the theater say they continue to try and carry out their founders vision – make high quality ballet accessible to both students and audiences.

“It’s really about the community and bringing live performance and dance with music to the Berks County audiences so they have the opportunity to see the magic come to life,” said Nathan Bland, artistic director of Berks Ballet Theater.

Berks Ballet Theater has one final performance of the Nutcracker scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m..
