NFL seasons are a marathon, and after losing three straight games, the Eagles (10-5) have won two consecutive games and back-to-back division titles after a 29-18 win over the Washington Commanders on Saturday night. The emotional win was two-fold as the Dallas Cowboys were officially eliminated from any shot at the postseason ahead of their Sunday matchup at AT&T Stadium against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Eagles have now won 12 of the 26 division titles since the year 2000.
The Eagles were able to regroup after Will Shipley fumbled on the opening kickoff, and kicker Jake Elliott missed three field goals, including one that was negated by a Washington penalty. The highlight of the night included a late brawl after Saquon Barkley added a 2-point conversion to increase the Eagles’ lead to 19 points. Tyler Steen was among the three players ejected.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 22 of 30 passes for 185 yards, with two touchdowns and no turnovers. He connected with DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown a combined 15 times. In the first half, Hurts threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Smith, and in the third quarter, he tossed a 15-yard touchdown pass to tight end Dallas Goedert, which put Philadelphia ahead 14-10.
With preparation for a huge matchup against Buffalo set to begin, we’re looking at the Takeaways and observations from the Eagles’ win over the Commanders.

There are still the occasional lulls in efficiency, but Patullo is starting to find his rhythm. Philadelphia outgained Washington 385 yards to 220, as the Eagles had 26 first downs, 4-9 on third down, 3-3 in the red zone, and 66 total offensive plays.
Brandon Graham
Graham, 37, had two sacks last week, making him the oldest Eagles player to record one, and added another Saturday, continuing a move-script-like return.
Saquon makes Eagles’ history
It’s not 2,005, but Barkley has back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in an Eagles jersey.
A.J. Brown
Brown is starting to find his groove and had another monster performance. Brown finished with nine catches for 95 yards (10.6 avg), while DeVonta Smith finished with six catches for 42 yards and a touchdown.
