If you think surfing is relegated to the sun-soaked beaches of California in the warmer months, think again.
The Skelton Bros., a pair of Northeast Ohio brothers boasting more than 100,000 TikTok followers, are proving that point.
The duo regularly creates content revolving around surfing on the Great Lakes, and in a recent viral video, the brothers took a “slushy,” semi-frozen Lake Erie to catch a swell.

The video, which boasts nearly 200,000 comments and just under 20,000 likes, includes a POV video of one of the Skelton bros paddling out—through visible chunks of ice—to surf Lake Erie in December. With a thermal wetsuit, obviously.
It wasn’t a one-off stunt, either. The Skelton Bros regularly post winter surfing content (in addition to surfing during the warmer months), with a Dec. 20 video showing the two donning fully frozen hair and beards.
