FOUNTAIN HILL, Pa. – Christmas Eve traditions are already on the menu Tuesday morning, especially for some families celebrating the “Feast of the Seven Fishes.”

69 News Reporter Sydney Kay has the story on a Fountain Hill restaurant keeping the Italian culture alive.

Giacomo Sgroi, owner/chef at Tinto Tapas & Pasta Restaurant, showed viewers how to make a seafood salad.

Feast of the Seven Fishes is a tradition that is celebrated on Christmas Eve. A dinner featuring multiple seafood courses are served.

Sgroi said the restaurant is working on preparing meals for 200 families.

For catering, the food will be delivered cold for customers to warm up. People will get instructions on how to warm up the food. People will have “fresh food, anytime they want,” he said.

When asked what it means to him to be able to share his family recipes and culture with families in the area, he said it’s “a beautiful thing.”

He said it keeps him going.

“This is like my passion, it’s what I do,” he said.

If he can make Christmas Eve special and keep the tradition going, “I’m in,” he said.

The positive feedback he and the restaurant get means so much, which makes he and the others who work at the restaurant want to do the event more and more.
