MAHONING TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A single-vehicle crash along State Routes 28 and 66 in Armstrong County sent a juvenile passenger to the hospital, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
State police said the crash occurred around 2:32 p.m. on December 7 along Routes 28 and 66, north of Golf Link Road in Mahoning Township.
Kittanning-based State Police reported that a 2020 GMC Acadia, driven by Ryan K. Hetrick, 48, of New Bethlehem, was traveling south when it left the left side of the roadway and struck a guide rail. The vehicle then spun around and hit an embankment on the right side of the road, sustaining disabling damage.
Hetrick was not injured in the crash. A second adult passenger, Sara A. Hetrick, 41, of New Bethlehem, was also not injured.
A juvenile passenger — an 8-year-old boy, also of New Bethlehem — suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Armstrong County Memorial Hospital for evaluation, according to state police.
Police noted that all vehicle occupants were using safety equipment.
The Acadia was towed from the scene by Cornman’s Towing.
Hetrick was cited for a traffic lane violation, according to the report.
