America250PA unveil a custom-designed bell sculpture on Thursday at the YMCA Mericle Family Center for Early Childhood Education in Pittston as part of its Bells Across PA initiative, a statewide public art series commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026.
Each fiberglass bell is imagined by a local artist and brought to life in partnership with community organizations. The Luzerne County bell—designed by Anna Dowse—was sponsored by Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services.
The Bells Across PA initiative will ultimately place commemorative bells in all 67 counties of the Commonwealth by 2026, helping tell the story of Pennsylvania’s people, places and contributions to the American journey.
