ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Here at the Allentown Farmers Market, last minute shoppers have their lists and are checking them twice.

“Trying to get ready for Christmas Eve, and Christmas and my mom’s birthday is Christmas Eve, so my arms are tired,” said shopper Will Tjeltveit.

In the final hours before Christmas Eve dinner, shoppers say it hasn’t been too hectic.

“I’ll tell you what. I was expecting the farmers market to be a lot more crazy. And so far, so good,” said Janine Hyde-Broderick.

Shoppers are getting the classics.

“Cookies, because I was too busy, too lazy to bake” Hyde-Broderick said.

And some unique additions.

“I mean, I picked up kimchi earlier. Christmas, kimchi, you got to have it.” said Zachary Broderick.

People of all are getting their last-minute shopping done. But really, what are the holidays without desserts?

“You can’t go wrong with Mary Ann donuts. Like you got to have that on Christmas morning. So, it’s a staple in our house, and I’d be in trouble if I didn’t bring these home,” said shopper Brooke Schaffer.

Donut shops like Vallos Bakery have been up early getting everything ready for the big day.

“Like right in the morning, everybody likes to come in and get all their cookies, get all their donuts, get all their goods, go home and start baking, and, you know, doing everything they need to do for Christmas day,” said worker Trevor Hanuschak.

And to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

“It pays to go at the last minute, I guess,” added Tjeltveit.
