FORKS TWP., Pa. – A Halloween tradition returns in Northampton County.
The Haunt at Bushkill Park is in full swing.
69 News reporter Amelia Sack gives us a sneak peek at the scary fun.
Bushkill Park is trading in its carousels and kiddie rides for spider webs and skeletons during its annual Halloween Haunt.
“I like to hear the laughter of the kids all summer long, and then when fall comes, I like to hear the screams coming from beyond,” said Susan Klein, manager of Bushkill Park.
From mid-September through early November, one of America’s oldest amusement parks is transformed into a spooky spectacle.
“It was scary,” said Mackenzie Vasquez.
“I think it was cool but scary,” said Blair Lee.
The Haunt at Bushkill Park is home to plenty of thrills — including the oldest funhouse in the United States.
“This is America’s oldest funhouse, and it is no longer fun — it is haunted,” Klein said.
The two-story building is more than 100 years old.
It’s one of the many pieces of history at The Haunt at Bushkill Park that keeps people coming back for more family fun.
“I grew up here, just like so many other people around this area. It’s awesome that the tradition still continues here at Bushkill,” said Joe Rosado of Easton.
“People come here year after year just to make more memories — bring new family members to make more memories,” Klein said.
