The People’s Gas Holiday Market in Pittsburgh saw a last-minute push from shoppers eager to find unique gifts as it wraps up its season. Many visitors said they wanted to come to the holiday market to find things they could not find anywhere else.”Yeah, we’re finding, you know, a few of those fun Pittsburgh items that are nice to send to our family out of town. But we’re pretty much done with our Christmas shopping,” Jennifer O’Neill said.Drew Phillips from Gibsonia said he was able to find everything he needed on his list.”I work today, so I’m just coming out and just getting some last-minute things. Yeah. Just anything I’ve forgotten over, you know, little, little things like coffee and chocolates and stuff like that,” Phillips said.Business owners said they were pleased with the turnout despite the market moving from Market Square. “So, this is our first year here at the Christmas market. So, we’ve been here since Nov. 20, and we had a great time so far,” Beth Bedway of East Wheeling Clay Works said.Kelly Sanders, co-owner of Love, Pittsburgh, said she was curious how the new location would be received. “I know we were, like, very open to seeing, like, what would happen. And it was a pleasant surprise because we feel like our business has been about equal from last year to this year. People came out,” Sanders said. Sanders added she hopes the market could expand, suggesting the market could include Market Square and other locations to enhance the experience for everyone.
