EXETER TWP., Pa. – The day after Christmas brought shoppers out in full force — looking for deals.
At Boscov’s East in Exeter Township, many came with gift cards they had just gotten as presents. They were looking for bargains on everything from clothes to small appliances.
Others were there to get ahead on next Christmas.

“A lot of customers come in for wrap or Christmas trees, getting next year’s Christmas tree a little bit early and there are obviously some returns this time of year but most customers end up buying more stuff than they return,” says Karl Hess Director of Stores at Boscov’s.
“I wanted to get the bargains of the wrapping paper and the Christmas cards for next year. I do that, I have that,” shopper Patti Haltom says.
A store rep says gift cards continue to grow in popularity each year.
