Several football players from District 2 were among the 55 selected from across Pennsylvania as winners of the Maxwell Football Club 2025 Mini Max High School Award.

Abington Heights quarterback Nick Bradley, Berwick running back Ty’Meere Wilkerson, Delaware Valley running back/defensive back Mike Iuzzolino, Pittston Area fullback/linebacker Brody Spindler, Scranton Prep quarterback/defensive back Will McPartland, and Wyoming Area two-way lineman Max Getzie are finalists for the Player of the Year award from Pennsylvania.

Athletes were nominated by their coaches throughout the season and were evaluated based on their football performance, their academic record, and their community service.

The Maxwell Football Club will select one player from Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey as the player of the year for each state. The winners will be announced at the annual Mini-Maxwell Awards on Feb. 1 at the Drexelbrook Catering and Event Center in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania.

The players of the year in each state will be the candidates for the Maxwell Club’s 39th Jim Henry Award as the Outstanding Player in the region, which will also be announced at the ceremony Feb. 1.

All three players representing LFC schools were named to The Times-Tribune All-Region team and all three players representing WVC school were named to The Citizens’ Voice All-Star Team.

Bradley led Abington Heights to the District 2 Class 5A final. A three-time All-Region selection completed 92 of 143 passes with eight interceptions for 1,242 yards and 13 touchdowns while missing four games with an injury. He also rushed for 378 yards and eight touchdowns.

Iuzzolino earned his second All-Region berth after leading Delaware Valley to the District 2 Class 5A championship. He led the Lackawanna Football Conference Division I in rushing with 1,540 yards on 232 carries and scored 20 touchdowns.

McPartland returned from a torn ACL suffered in the PIAA playoffs in his junior year to lead Scranton Prep to the District 2 Class 3A championship. He was named the LFC Division I Offensive Player of the Year after he completed 91 of 149 passes with seven interceptions. He threw for 1,603 yards and 12 touchdowns and added 984 yards rushing on 140 attempts with 28 touchdowns and was named to the Pennsylvania Football Writers’ Class 3A all-state team last Tuesday.

Wilkerson set single-season records at Berwick with 2,851 yards rushing and 40 touchdowns while averaging 12.8 yards per carry. He was name to the PFW Class 3A all-state team.

Spindler rushed for 1,044 yards and had 13 total touchdowns. He also had 88 total tackles (58 solo), seven tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception and one forced fumble.

Getzie was one of the most dominant linemen in the WVC. He was part of an offensive line that helped the Warriors rush for 259.6 yards per game and 35 touchdowns. He had 29 total tackles (13 solo), 2.5 tackles for loss and four quarterback hurries. He has offers from Bloomsburg University and Seton Hill University.
