• A Christian pet loss support group will be held at St. John’s Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, in the fellowship hall on Jan. 5 at 6:45 p.m. Sessions are led by Dr. Becky Frank, associate veterinarian with Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice. The program entails six different sessions and participants may join at any time. This group is open to the public and is offered at no charge. Questions should be directed to office@stjohnsss.org. • Huff’s Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Hereford Township, will hold a New Year’s blessing on Jan.11 during the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Mike and Linda Hertzog will share Nei Yaahrs Winsch in Pennsylavnia Dutch and other lively music. There will be a hot dog and soup lunch to follow for a donation. Take-out soup is available by pre-order by Jan. 7 to pick up from noon-1 p.m. on Jan. 11: seafood chowder, cheesy broccoli and ham or sausage soup, quart $10, pint $6. • The Rev. Robert Argot and Kathie Moyer, Salem Lutheran Church council president, will lead the 9:30 a.m. worship service Sunday at the church, 8410 Lancaster Ave., Bethel. Social time will follow the service.
