Carol Sylvester
OBITUARY
Carol Sylvester, born September 2, 1962 in Clarks Summit Pennsylvania, joined the great loves of her life in her eternal home on December 25, 2025 after a nearly year long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the beloved daughter of Karl and Joan Robinson Sylvester.
In her lifetime, Carol left an imprint on this earth that was remarkable. She paid attention, she listened deeply, and she noticed. She remembered birthdays, moments, and milestones. She sat on the floor and made eye contact while she chatted with those she loved. She always asked everyone about their lives, their days, and what was important to them. You could always call her when you needed to know how to arrange your living room or what color paint would go best in your new powder room.
Carol is survived by her sister Joanne Hirschler, brother Karl Sylvester, sister Holly James, sister-in-law Katherine Sylvester, brother-in-law Paul Hirschler, and brother-in-law Jeffery James, and her step mother Annmarie Sylvester. Carol was also the cherished aunt to nine nieces and nephews, who she cherished as her own children. Among them are Katherine Wyman, Sean Hirschler, Kellan Hirschler, Olivia James, Madelyn James, Karl Sylvester Jr., Gabriel Sylvester, Brooke Wyman, and Andrea Hirschler.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Albert P. O’Donnell Funeral Home 2025 Green Ridge Street Dunmore, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Snows, 301 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. Friends may call Monday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment Saint Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow. All those attending the funeral are asked to proceed directly to the church on Tuesday morning.
