WESTMORELAND COUNTY, PA — A man is in custody after three young children were found to have cocaine in their systems.

Authorities said that Josiah Hughes, 30, left the trio – ages 5, 3 and 1 – alone in a home on Woodmont Avenue in Arnold, WTAE-TV reported.

Caseworkers investigating a claim that Hughes left the children unattended in the residence said they found the children were living in deplorable conditions, Triblive reported.

Caseworkers took the children into custody and took them to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Lawrenceville, where all three tested positive for cocaine.

According to court documents, Hughes is facing three felony charges of endangering the welfare of children.
