BETHLEHEM, Pa. – We are hearing from neighbors who were around when a shooting happened outside a Bethlehem McDonalds Saturday night.
Jarrett Berg lives just across from the McDonalds on Wyandotte Street in Bethlehem.
“So, like when I first heard the yelling I didn’t think it was like anything out of the ordinary cause people are always out here,” said Berg.
Police said a shooting happened outside of the restaurant.
“But you know the shots started going off and I was about to go walk my dog. I stayed inside for the rest of the night. I’m not about to put myself in a situation like that,” said Berg.
Police said a man was shot and taken to the hospital where he had surgery.
According to investigators, the victim and suspects were all together when the shooting happened.
Police said they do not believe this shooting was random.
“It could’ve came through the wall, like my bedroom is in the front of my house,” said Berg.
“I was inside of my house. I was playing video games, so I had my headset on and then I had my window cracked because it was hot, so I heard a pop,” said Kevin Bernal, a neighbor.
Bernal said he was across the street and looked out his window when he heard a gun shot, but did not see anything at first so he went back to playing video games.
“The next thing I see is just the blue and red lights. There was a red car right there he got stuck, I think he got shot right in the car,” said Bernal.
Police could be seen towing a car from the shooting scene Saturday night.
“I was surprised, yeah a little surprised that it happened in front of my house,” said Bernal.
Berg said the shooting happened in an area where he normally feels safe.
“It’s just sad really, honestly,” said Berg.
At this time there is no word on the condition of the man who police said was shot or on what may have led up to this shooting.
