The church community of Holy Family Church celebrated their last mass in their church on East 9th and Fulton Streets on Sunday afternoon.
A few weeks ago, the Diocese of Erie announced that Holy Family Church will be re-purposed, meaning it will no longer serve as a place of worship and can be used for non-religious uses.
This came after an extensive review of the financial and structural challenges of the building.
Parishioners gathered for a final mass together with their Pastor Fr. Jason glover.
Holy family merged with St. Ann’s Church, and St. Casimir’s Church and all three are under the name of Our Mother of Sorrows Parish.
