A homeless woman who threatened Covington Twp. police officers as they were responding to an incident on Oct. 10 faces two felony charges of aggravated assault, according to a criminal complaint.

At about 9:30 p.m., officers were called to 399 Daleville Highway for a domestic incident. When officers arrived, they found the two individuals involved  left the area.

According to the complaint:

When Police Chief Jeffrey Lamm spoke with April Doll, a witness to the domestic altercation, he found she was wanted by the Lackawanna County sheriff’s office.

As Lamm and Officer Chriss Grube attempted to take Doll into custody in an office inside the residence, she grabbed a pair of scissors from a desk and took an aggressive stance.

Lamm drew his his firearm and Grube drew his Taser, with both officers ordering Doll to drop the scissors several times. Doll yelled that she didn’t want to go to jail, as she held onto the scissors.

Grube then deployed his Taser, momentarily incapacitating Doll.

After Lamm took the scissors from Doll, she apologized multiple times for trying to hurt the officers as she was escorted to the police vehicle.

Doll remains at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 28 before District Judge Paul Keeler.
