Pope John Paul II 82, Notre Dame Green Pond 43 (Allentown Central Catholic Holiday Tournament)

PJP boasted five players in double figures as the team cruised to its sixth straight victory in game one of two at Allentown Central Catholic’s holiday showcase on Monday. Jason Green was tops for the Golden Panthers (9-2 overall) with 15 points, followed by CJ Hestick’s 14, Lucas Pekofsky’s 11 and Ayden Wise and Eric Green’s 10.

Upper Moreland 69, Pottstown 51 (Great Valley Holiday Tournament)

Elias Butler posted a team-high 19 points in Pottstown’s first game in the Great Valley Holiday Tournament on Monday, only for the team to drop its third consecutive loss against Upper Moreland. Yahsir Wood joined Butler in double digits with 14 points for the Trojans (5-5).

Abington 48, Spring-Ford 39 (Pete and Jameer Nelson Classic)

Syaire Barnes’ 16 points led all Spring-Ford scorers but the Rams lost for just the second time this season after being outscored by 16 points in the second half against Abington at Widener University on Monday. Jack Kennedy chipped in 11 points for the Rams, who fell to 8-2 overall following the setback.

West Philadelphia 57, Phoenixville 47 (Avon Grove Red Devils Holiday Tournament)

Keron Booth Jr. led all scorers with 22 points – 15 in the second half – but Phoenixville came up short against West Philadelphia in game one of two at Avon Grove’s holiday classic. Stephen Yurick added 16 points for the Phantoms (7-3), as Yurick and Booth knocked down four 3-pointers apiece in the defeat.

Fleetwood 57, Upper Perkiomen 47 (Fleetwood Holiday Tiger Classic)

Darius Reid’s 18 points led the charge for Upper Perk on Monday night but the team dropped a 10-point decision to the host Tigers in the first of a two-game run. The Indians slipped to 3-8 overall with the loss.

Girls Basketball

Pottstown 50, Saucon Valley 48

Jayanna Hill tallied 16 of her game-high 21 points during a critical second half in which Pottstown held off host Saucon Valley on Monday. The Trojans (6-3), who trailed by five points at halftime, also received a 15-point effort courtesy of Hailey Danzig, with 12 of those coming after the break.

Phoenixville 52, Concord (DE) 21 (Avon Grove Red Devils Holiday Tournament)

Kayden Baratta knocked down three triples and scored 11 of her game-high 17 points during a scorching first half as Phoenixville dominated Concord 52-21 at the Avon Grove Red Devils Holiday Tournament on December 29, 2025. Kayden Baratta deposited 11 of her game-high 17 points during a first half in which Phoenixville raced out to a 38-9 victory and never looked back in the team’s first of two games at Avon Grove on Monday. The Wesleyan recruit also knocked down three triples in the win for the Phantoms (7-3), who also got an eight-point effort from Charlie Campbell in the triumph.

Upper Merion 46, Penncrest 33 (Upper Merion Holiday Tournament)

Kennedy Coles’ 15 points led three UM players in double figures as the team defended its home court in the first of a two-day tournament in KOP on Monday. The Vikings (7-3) also got strong contributions from Gabby Callison (12 points) and Leveyda Fuqua (10 points) in the win.

William Tennent 48, Owen J. Roberts 32 (Upper Merion Holiday Tournament)

Also competing at Upper Merion on Monday, Maggie Thompson poured in a game-high 22 points but OJR lost its fourth consecutive contest. Kira Sorzano was next up on the scoresheet with eight points for the Wildcats (5-5).

Lexington (SC) 53, Perkiomen Valley 45 (Carolina Invitational)

Scarlett Lee’s 11 points led the way for Perk Valley in game two of three down in South Carolina on Monday but the team lost for only the second time this season after being outscored by 10 points in the final quarter. Gabby Russo, Kate Nemic and Hannah Evans all provided eight points apiece in the loss for the Vikings (8-2).

New Smyrna (FL) 47, Spring-Ford 42 (Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational)

Freshman Teagan Finney produced a team-high 15 points but Spring-Ford dropped its second of three games in Tampa Bay on Monday. The decision was just the second loss this season for the Rams (6-2), who were slowed by a one-point second quarter yet still managed to make things interesting in the fourth quarter despite trailing by 15 points entering the final period. Brynn Stiles (nine points) and Emma Kaercher (eight points) also had big moments for Spring-Ford in a losing effort.

Council Rock South 65, Norristown 42 (George W. Snear Holiday Tournament)

Lex Hernandez’s 14 points led all scorers in game one of two for Norristown at the George Snear Holiday showcase in Conshohocken, but CR South jumped out to a 12-4 advantage after one and never let up the rest of the way. Adrianna Golston added 12 points in the loss for the Eagles (1-9).

Boys Wrestling

The Memorial Jingle Brawl (Marple Newtown HS)

Norristown finished fourth out of eight competing teams on Monday at Marple Newtown’s Memorial Jungle Brawl, earning 151 team points in an event won by Ridley. Three Eagles wrestlers won their respective weight classes: Antonio Nichols (133 pounds), Vicktor Lebron (215) and Chris Coey (285). Austin Walker (107), Garaba Konte (152) and Khalil Jordan (160) all secured third-place finishes. Jonathan Bruno was fifth at 139 pounds.

Meanwhile, Pottstown also wrestled in the showcase, placing eighth with 53 team points. Caden Nihart landed the best finish for the Trojans, placing third at 145 pounds, while Anthony Suber (139) and Julius Martin (285) each finished fourth. Luke Grice won an 11-7 decision over Penn Wood’s Marquise Miles to finish fifth at 160.

Bethlehem Holiday Classic (Bethlehem Liberty HS)

Boyertown earned a 10th-place finish out of 30 total teams at the two-day Bethlehem Holiday Classic as the Bears racked up 106.5 team points in the event won by Nazareth. Kaleb Dumin advanced to the finals at 215 pounds before dropping a 15-1 major decision to Garnet Valley’s Paxton Hunt, while Josh Larrimore finished fourth at 189 after being the victim of a 17-1 technical fall to Hazleton’s Mason Marolo. Liam Diamond (seventh place, 139) and Jacob Stanchak (eighth place, 107) also left Bethlehem Liberty High School with some hardware.
