CUMRU TWP., Pa. – Route 422 in Cumru Township was brought to a halt late on Friday night after authorities say a car hit the median, crashed through a sign, and dropped nearly 100 feet before catching on fire.
We’re told the car was traveling westbound on 422 before the accident.
The male driver managed to get himself out of the car.
He was rushed to Reading Hospital with serious injuries.
Route 422 was closed for nearly 2 and a half hours after the crash.
Officials are investigating what lead up to it.
