WARWICK TWP., Pa. – Officials in Chester County are urging the public to use caution when spending time outdoors after an individual was injured by a coyote in Warwick Township.

According to a post on North Coventry Police Department’s Crimewatch page, the incident happened Sunday, December 28 on Warwick Furnace Road.

Authorities say the person attacked by the coyote is seeking medical care. There is no word on the nature and extent of their injuries, and it is not known if the animal is rabid.

Residents are advised to stay away from any wild animals and remain aware of their pets.

Authorities are also strongly advising people not to attempt to catch or engage with a coyote, and to contact The PA Game Commission if one is sighted.
