Two women attacked two other women outside of a Philadelphia home, leading to a shootout that left two men dead and another man injured on New Year’s Day, police said.

The incident unfolded on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, shortly before 11:15 a.m. when Cara Williams-Reeves, 44, Tyriq Williams, Quadir Tull, 21, and an unidentified woman went to the home of 52-year-old Luis Colon on the 7100 block of Oakland Street, according to police. Investigators said Williams-Reeves and Williams are family members of the ex-boyfriend of Colon’s stepdaughter. The ex-boyfriend was not with them at the time, according to police.

During the confrontation, Williams-Reeves and an unidentified woman began attacking Colon’s stepdaughter and Colon’s wife on the front lawn, investigators said. When Colon tried to intervene, Tull and Williams both pushed him away and pulled out weapons, according to police. Colon then pulled out his own gun and a shootout ensued between all three men, investigators said.

Colon suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:55 a.m. Tyriq Williams and Quadir Tull were also struck during the shootout, police said. The two men along with Williams-Reeves fled the scene in a dark-colored Chrysler 300 and information on the vehicle was shared over police radio, according to investigators.

The vehicle later arrived at Temple University Hospital. Williams – who suffered a gunshot wound to the hand – was placed in stable condition while Tull – who suffered multiple gunshot wounds – was pronounced dead at 11:52 a.m.

Both Cara Williams-Reeves and Tyriq Williams were later arrested and charged with murder and other related offenses.
