Westbound Route 12 is closed at River Road in Reading due to an early-morning motor vehicle accident, Berks County emergency officials announced Saturday.
Emergency dispatches indicated there was a two-vehicle accident with several victims on Route 12 at Carbon Street at about 4:30 a.m.
The highway, commonly referred to as the Warren Street Bypass, is expected to be closed for an extended period, officials said.
