ALLENTOWN, Pa. – In response to recent developments in Venezuela, community leaders and residents will gather Saturday in support for the Venezuelan people.

According to a press release from the La Bicicleta Arepa Bar, the gathering will take place at 2 p.m. at La Bicicleta Arepa, located at 709 Union Boulevard, Allentown, PA 18109.

Event officials say the event is not a political rally, rather a space for prayer, solidarity, and collective support for families affected both in Venezuela and throughout the diaspora.

The event will include remarks from Mayor Matt Tuerk, Allentown City Council President Cynthia Mota, and a prayer led by Pastor José Gregorio of Iglesia Templo Refugio.Â
