NFL fans have blasted Jason Kelce for his ‘biased’ prediction that his beloved Philadelphia Eagles will once again go deep in the playoffs this season.
Kelce played 13 seasons for the Eagles, winning a Super Bowl with the franchise in 2018, before retiring two years ago after a Hall of Fame career.
Since then he has been working as an analyst for ESPN’s flagship NFL broadcast ‘Monday Night Countdown’ and was in the studio for Saturday’s crucial Bucs-Panthers and 49ers-Seahawks double header.
Before the action started, Kelce and co-stars Ryan Clark and Marcus Spears were asked to give their opinions on the playoff picture with the regular season coming to a close this weekend.
And Kelce backed Nick Sirianni’s Eagles, who are the reigning Super Bowl champions, to once again lift the Lombardi Trophy in Santa Clara on February 8.
He said: ‘For me it’s whether the Philadelphia Eagles will be able to repeat as Super Bowl champions. I mean, listen, they’re rolling on all fronts right now except offense, right?Â

The Eagles are through to the playoffs already and are resting key players for Sunday’s game
‘The offensive line and running game needs to get going, but they’re getting help. They are getting Lane Johnson back. Jalen Hurts is going to be running in the postseason.Â
‘You’ve seen time and time again, he was the only quarterback with multiple three-plus touchdown runs in the postseason. He is a game change and has been great when the stars have been brightest.Â
‘Cooper DeJean, this defense has been generationally great these last few weeks. They’re great tacklers, they are great in space, they get after the quarterback. They do it all.Â
‘I don’t think there is a team out there that I have more confidence in than the Eagles and, to top it off, they’re going to be facing one of these West Coast teams traveling to the East Coast with a bunch of rest this week for a lot of starters.
‘I feel very confident for the Philadelphia Eagles.’
But fans were far from surprised that Kelce tipped his former team to do well and took to social media to criticize his analysis.Â
One posted: ‘Surprise. Can we find and employ impartial broadcasters? At least some that try? These guys get paid huge salaries to stump for their home teams. Why should I pay any attention at all?
Another replied: ‘I’m shocked Jason would say that’.Â
A third added: ‘OF course he is going to pick his previous team. So annoying.’
‘Who would’ve guessed that one?’ another ironically asked, while another wrote: ‘No bias here whatever. None. Zero.’
One fan took the opportunity to have a dig at Kelce’s brother Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs’ failure to make the playoffs.Â
They wrote: ‘Meh of course he’s biased. I’m just happy the Chiefs aren’t there.’Â
In fairness to Kelce, the Eagles are already through to the playoffs and will even rest some starters for their Week 18 game against the Washington Commanders.
The Eagles (11-5) would earn the No. 2 seed in the NFC and could be in line to play two home games if they beat the Commander on Sunday and Chicago loses to Detroit.
If not, the Eagles are the No. 3 seed and are guaranteed only to host during wild card weekend.
