CATASAUQUA, Pa. – A long-standing branch of the YMCA in Lehigh County is no more.

The Suburban North branch on Walnut Street in Catasauqua closed its doors for good on Sunday.

The Y has been part of the community for more than 50 years, starting up back in 1966.

It’s one of several in the River Crossing YMCA network.

Officials say enrollment at the Catty branch is low, and it costs too much to keep the place open.

Suburban North members are being given the opportunity to try another River Crossing branch for free for three months.
